Create a Quiz

One way to assess how well your note taking skills are developing is to create a short quiz based on your notes. Select a lecture or presentation on any topic from any of your classes. If you have a quiz coming up on a topic, that’s even better.

Create a short five-question quiz using the ANGEL quiz tool. It can be multiple choice, true/false, or multiple select format. The goal is for you to select the most important notes or main points from the notes you have taken. What were they? What would you ask about them to determine that the content has been understood?

For help with creating a quiz in ANGEL, refer to the ANGEL help section.

Once you have developed your own quiz, compare it to quizzes developed by other students--or you might choose to actually “take” each others' quizzes.

If you wrote your quiz and then took one on the same topic, how did your quiz compare to the one given by your instructor? Look for similarities, but pay a lot of attention to the differences. The differences are where you and your instructor have alternate points of view about what is or is not the most pertinent information on this particular topic.

You can also use the quizzing tool in ANGEL to create drill and practice exercises for many of your courses where you need to memorize basic facts.
